Lloyds TSB Foundation game, set and MATCH over £5,500 for Action Cancer
Local cancer charity, Action Cancer, has benefited from the Lloyds TSB Foundation for Northern Ireland’s Matched Giving Scheme to the tune of just over £5,500.
Around 20 Lloyds Banking Group colleagues have contributed to this outstanding amount over the last year by taking part in a variety of activities in support of Action Cancer, including sponsored facial hair growing, cake sales and participation in their annual MoonLight Walk in June, which raises money for the charity’s breast screening service. The £5,500 raised will enable Action Cancer to screen almost 40 women province wide either at its Belfast base or on board the Big Bus which travels to over 200 locations every year bringing services to deprived areas and areas where uptake of services is low.
The Matched Giving Scheme encourages involvement in the voluntary sector through personal participation in fundraising or volunteering. Every member of staff employed by Lloyds Banking Group and any subsidiary is entitled to claim matched funding from the Foundation for every pound raised or every hour volunteered.
