Are you eligible to apply?

You must check the boxes to agree to all of the following statements to be eligible to apply for funding to HFNI. If you are unsure of any of the eligibility statements, please contact the office on for support.

Your group needs to be registered with Charity Commission for Northern Ireland. If not, you need to have expressed an interest in becoming a charity with CCNI and hold HMRC charitable status. Please visit to check your status.
Your charity income needs to be less than £1m as shown on your most recent set of accounts. If you are a charity that covers a number of regions in the UK, we will ask for details of your NI income only. Ensure that this can be made available.
You can only hold one Community grant at any given time. If you were awarded a grant, you must complete the evaluation process and wait 12 months before reapplying. *Please contact the foundation if you are unsure at
If you had been awarded three grants over three consecutive years, you must leave a one year gap before reapplying, e.g. 2020, 2021 and 2022 grant holders cannot return for funding until the relevant quarter in 2024.
If the outcome of your last application was ‘unsuccessful’, you must wait 12 months before reapplying.
