Well done to Lucia & Jacqueline, from Halifax Millennium Forum Branch, for raising funds for Foyle Search & Rescue by organising a coffee morning and taking part in a sponsored cycle respectively. The money raised was matched through our Halifax/Lloyds Banking Group Matched Giving Scheme and the total amount donated was £1,266. Foyle Search and Rescue patrols the River Foyle in times of need, engaging with people in distress and recovering bodies from the river. They provide an emergency response service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Since 1993, they have prevented over 2,568 suicides, recovered 126 bodies and helped reduce the number of drownings per year from 25 to 4.
